Miss Mary L. Alves daughter of Mr and Mrs Manuel Alves of 20 Baker Street wed Joseph Tavares son of Mr and Mrs Frank Tavares of 1200 Hope Street in a double ring ceremony at Elizabeth's Church. Rev Henrique Rocha officiated. They reside at 1200 Hope Street after a reception at Midway Steak and Lobster House and a trip to New York.
The Bristol Boy Scout Bugle and Drum Corps meets at Scout Hall at 7 PM for practice and instruction. Delegates report on the RI Fife Drum and Bugle Corps Association meeting in Providence. Recruit drummers and buglers will train while the corps executive committee meets after practice. First Bristol Troop to meet next Monday with new recruits and Cub Pack No 14 graduations. Plans also set for the season’s first Providence pool swim and fall winter hiking program.
