Dispute Over Bell Estate Agreement Decided in Court

May 1920 session of the Superior Court heard a bill of Equity seeking specific performance of a land sale. Gustavo Vergelli claimed to have agreed to buy Manuel Pimental and wife’s house and lot for 4000 dollars, paid 100, and pledged to pay the balance in 30 days. The sellers argued the agreement lacked all terms including a forfeiture clause. The court ruled in favor of Vergelli after testimony from Domenico De Cristofaro and witnesses, with counsel James F Lavander for Vergelli and A V Pettine for the Pimentels.
