Grand annual May ball of Bristol Light Infantry
The Bristol Light Infantry held its grand annual May ball at the Wood Street armory with a large crowd. The Alpine orchestra played well and Ned Young led the prompting. Capt Callan and Miss Nora Barns opened the grand march with about 50 couples following. A full program of 26 numbers ran into the early hours with refreshments at midnight. Decorations included national colors, flags, bunting, ferns and flowers creating a festive setting.

Estella Birge Mason Rites Held After Brief Illness
Mrs Ezra Mason of Bristol died at home on Metacom Avenue after a brief illness aged 41. Eldest daughter of Charles Birge of San Jose California and Wisconsin native who moved to Bristol on marriage twenty years ago. She was valued for intellect and refined mind devoted to family welfare and friends. Community offers sympathy to the bereaved family.

School board sets 9am to 2pm high school with noon recess
A special meeting considered a petition from 30 parents 2 teachers and 4 students to extend sessions from 8 30 to 1 15 pm without recess. The committee cited School Regulations Art VII Sec 3 and Art X Sec 6 noting no action taken and ordered the principal notified that starting Wednesday May 27 the high school will follow the standard 9 am to 2 pm schedule with a 15 minute noon recess.
