Superintendent Replies To Editor Over Agricultural Course Dispute
William Hobbs the Bristol Rhode Island school superintendent writes in support of the school committee’s decision to discontinue the high school agricultural course. He cites budget strains and staffing limits noting that only one farmer’s son enrolled this year while the district would gain by reallocating the agricultural periods to core academics. He links the Rhode Island College guidance to pursue agricultural study at college level and defends the committee against local opposition.
