District Court Slot Machine Cases Discontinued
In a Warren District Court session Judge Bosworth ordered the six men charged after slot machines were found May 2 to be discontinued on payment of costs, as the machines were not owned by them. Writs of condemnation and forfeiture will be issued. Also in court were Mary Casey Fanny Lawton and Alice Babcock found guilty of lewd conduct and sentenced to six months at the Houses of Correction with costs. John Babcock pleaded guilty and received the same sentence. Various other cases and a temperance sermon by Rev. W. Lenoir Hood were noted.

Naval Reserves Circus to Visit Bristol
Bristol will host a grand Naval Reserves circus featuring an amateur town showcase with local dignitaries performing stunts. The event includes a tent show with trained ponies, acrobats, clowns and a grand concert, plus a pink lemonade stand, balloons and seating for families. A.A. Duchemin, who arranged the Providence First Light Infantry Circus, directs the Bristol effort to raise funds for Union Hospital in Fall River.

In Providence on Friday Judge Dau bois ruled for Francois H Adriance against Herreshoff Manufacturing Company. damages set at 772.15 for harm to the catboat Janet, which lay in Bristol Harbor near the defendant’s boat shop when the Ingomar was launched June 28, 1908. Adriance had claimed 1,000 dollars.
