Thames Street Problem Faces Bristol Officials and Rail Line
Bristol officials and New York New Haven and Hartford Railroad executives met at a private car luncheon to discuss repairing Thames street. They contended a $40,000 bill for rails and ties may be rejected due to franchise expiry in 1927 and possible abandonment. The town considers rebuilding Thames street this summer and must decide how to share or avoid costs with the railroad while upholding the 1902 franchise clause.
