Poppy Days Observed by Legion Auxiliary Here

Poppy Days May 24 25 will honor three wars with memorial poppies worn on lapels. Mrs. William J Seymour poppy chairman of Kearney Unit American Legion Auxiliary outlines preparations for the annual observance. Volunteers will distribute poppies on the streets aiding disabled veterans and needy children of veterans. Associates include Mrs Mabel Belanger Mrs William Gablinske Mrs Fred Garlin Mrs John Sousa Miss Anne Northup Miss Rita Margo and Miss Anna Mariano.

Procession of Mary Sodality At St Elizabeths Church

Children of Mary Sodality and 27 new members dressed in white joined a May procession at St Elizabeths Church. Miss Anna Cardoza carried the crown, with Misses Lorraine Martin Paula Mello Lorraine Correia and Charlotte Joseph assisting. Alice Sousa crowned the Blessed Mother as Salem Benediction ended the service.

Prescott Bickford Paull prominent Bristol citizen died at Truesdale Hospital Fall River of a coronary thrombosis Sunday afternoon. He was 41, born July 31 1898, active in local politics and business with Seth Paull Co. He served on the town council and influenced Bristol affairs. MacArthur Policy Debate Set for Bristol Thursday

Bristol Rhode Island World Affairs Council hosts a public debate on MacArthur and Our Far Eastern Policy at Colt auditorium 8 p.m. Speakers are Robert E. Olmsted of Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Providence and Dr Sinclair W. Armstrong Brown University with moderator R. S. Bosworth Sr. Olmsted is a longtime insurance executive and civic leader.
