Reliance beat Columbia by 14 minutes 43 seconds in the first of the ninety footers series sailed off Glen Cove Long Island. The 25 mile triangular course went Eaton's Point Green's Ledge Light and finish off Glen Cove. Capt N G Herreshoff steered Reliance at times.

Thomas Fitts, a cobbler at Constitution Street and Pearse Avenue, reported to Chief Hoard that a roll of $85 was stolen from his vest Tuesday and replaced by a stone.
