Man in Jaffray Charged After Father-in-law Shooting
Manuel Morris 25 arraigned before Justice of the Peace on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon with intent to kill Manuel Botelho, his father-in-law. Morris held on 5000 bonds awaiting Fifth District Court hearing. Police say Morris fired a 22 caliber revolver through his kitchen window. bullet missed Botelho but flying glass struck his eye. Botelho, 51, farmer and small-store operator, is in Rhode Island Hospital with eye injury. condition listed as good though sight outcome unclear. Neighbors summoned Dr. Harold DeWolf for aid.
