A Bristol community bazaar is planned for June 1 and 2 to raise funds for the July Fourth celebration. A committee appointed William Simmons as chairman with Harry S. Young and Orlando Bisbane as secretary and treasurer. Subcommittees will be chosen at next week’s meeting.

New Patrolman Begins Duties On Night Force Sunday
Joseph Kelley Sylvia a well known local baseball player and town council appointee will join the permanent police force filling the vacancy caused by Capt James W Goff's death May 4. He will start in the night shift Sunday under Police Chief Richard J Kavanaugh as Patrolman John McMahon remains acting Captain and Euclid J Deners stays on day duty. The appointment was unanimously approved after Councilman Joseph J Dennis presented Sylvia’s name. He is 29, 5 ft 11.5 in, about 200 pounds.
