Bristols Open Narragansett League With Win Over Railroad 10 to 4

The Bristols opened the Narragansett League season by defeating the Railroad team 10 to 4 on the common Saturday afternoon. F Lindemuth, town council president, tossed the first ball with a long drop. Hanley toed the mound for Railroad while George Pierce started for Bristol. E Murphy and Almeida led Bristol’s offense with strong hitting, Killian and Bushee starred for the visitors.

Bristol Mothers Club to host Wilde play reading

The Bristol Mothers Club meets tomorrow evening in the Colt Memorial High School auditorium. Brown University professor Thomas H. Crosby will read Oscar Wilde's The Liars. Admission is free and open to the public. tickets are not required. Crosby has performed here before and is warmly regarded.

President Wilson Note Delayed Read By German Officials

President Wilson's note to Germany faced a transmission delay but was read by Ambassador Gerard and presented to Herr von Jakow, the German Foreign Affairs minister. The action followed the Lusitania tragedy and other war zone events, easing American anxiety and stoking interest in Germany's reply.

Boy Hurt After Fall From Suburban Car

Frank Robinson six years old son of Mrs Henry Goff fell from a north bound Suburban car of the Rhode Island Company Sunday afternoon around 2 20 near Hope and Chestnut streets. He struck his head but escaped serious injuries being unconscious for about a half hour and sustaining only a head scratch and a bruised deft hip. Dr Henry L Teller attended.

The April list records contributions to the Children's Home from various donors and items. Names include Miss Fitch T. B. Huestis Mrs. Brigham Mrs. Bosworth Mrs. Bennett and Mrs. C. B. Rockwell Jr. with goods such as papers sugar worsteds turnips and material for curtains.

Forty-Ninth Meeting of Bristol Home for Destitute Children

The Bristol Home for Destitute Children held its 49th annual meeting Tuesday afternoon with Irving T. Gumb presiding. Reports from Secretary and Treasurer highlighted a year of well attended meetings, strong care for 25 children, and careful budgeting. Appreciation noted for Mrs. Hay the house mother, her assistant Miss Lambert, and donors including Trinity Church, Harvest Festival gifts, and local groups.
