Bristol Town loses bid for re argument and stay in water works case
In Providence the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed Bristol's petitions for a re argument and a stay of proceedings in the Bristol and Warren Water Works case. The town had sought to amend the bill to claim water defects and request conveyance terms, but the court found the amendment contradictory and inadmissible as a bill of review. The court ruled newly discovered evidence was cumulative and that Bristol acquired the water franchise at the 1895 vote, leaving the defendant as trustee only. The petitions for re argument and for a stay were both denied.
