United Brothers Lodge No. 13 I O O F and Reba Rebekah No. 13 observe the 53rd anniversary of the lodge and 104th of Odd Fellowship in America with welcomes from District Deputy Grand Master John G. Stewart. The program includes address on the lodge history, a concert by Bowlers Orchestra, solos by Miss Nida A Conners, and dancing after refreshments at Odd Fellows Hall High Street.

Talented pianist Beatrice Warden to perform for Colt Ambulance

Miss Beatrice Warden, a skilled pianist, will play a benefit concert at Colt Memorial High School auditorium on Monday morning. Proceeds support the Colt Ambulance Parade and Mass program, with volunteers and local donors encouraged to attend.

Chamber of Commerce Elects Officers and Votes Dues Change

The Chamber of Commerce voted to move the annual officer election from March to October and to raise dues from two to five dollars for the fall meeting. Dr W Fred Williams was elected to the District Nursing Association board, and John Kipman William Woody and George W Boutcher were approved for membership.

Federal raids target town saloons for moonshine evidence

Federal agents visited three locations on Mornday and found distrubed liquor at the combination fish market and saloon on Wood Street. A pint of moonshine was seized at Jay Pervar 258 Wood Street and a pint was claimed at 281 Thames Street run by John Cartera and Teo Nimeida.

Bristol Veteran Honored with State Soldiers Relief Appointment

General TE Callan of Bristol was named by Governor Pisun to the State Board of Soldiers' Relief succeeding the late Edgar Barker. The Senate confirmed the appointment at the latest Legislature session. Callan, a Brigadier General in the Officers' Reserve Corps, previously served as colonel of the 107th Engineers,Thirty-second Division, overseas in World War I and earned several honors.

The Rosary Screened at Pastime Theatre Sunday

Our Lady of Mt Carmel presents the sacred photoplay The Rosary at Pastime Theatre at 3 and 3:30 pm Sunday to aid the new altar fund. Miss Dora Ruggiera will sing The Rosary and selections. Proceeds benefit the church altar fund and the children's choir.
