Murder charge tied to Bristol County jail case
John McKenna, 75, is held on a murder charge after a quarrel with Albert Morris, 67, escalated Friday morning when McKenna struck Morris on the head with a hickory stick. Morris died later at a hospital from brain concussion and hemorrhage, autopsy confirming the cause. Morris, a former Rhode Island soldier and pensioner, had a troubled temper, and McKenna was arraigned and remanded without bail. an inquest is pending.
