Marbles Championship Set for Tomorrow on the Common

The Marbles Contest hosted by Awashonks Herd and the Boy Scout Honor Society begins tomorrow at 10 AM on the common. Reynolds School entrants compete as districts join next week with finals next Friday or Saturday and county title matches against Warren and Barrington. Bristol Dog Licensing Warning Issued by City Officer

Dog Officer Denis G Ferretta warns Bristol dog owners they have until month end to license pets. He cites at least 200 unlicensed dogs while 383 licenses have been issued so far and promises disciplinary action for noncompliance.

The Dreadnaughts voted to donate 10 to the Dwyer Memorial Fourth of July Fund sponsored by The Phoenix. Ever Ready Engine and Hose Co reentered their Twilight League baseball nine with new uniforms donated by Bristol merchants. Three new members were admitted and a social followed the meeting.

Library Club Plans Bridge and Sale for Library Fund

HELP 4TH JULY FUND. LIBRARY CLUB WILL COMPLETE PLANS FOR BRIDGE AND SALE A bridge whist party and food sale is planned by the Library Club of the Guiteras Memorial Junior High School for the night of May 23 in the school auditorium. Proceeds derived from the affair will be turned over to the library fund. St Mary's May Breakfast Draws 200 Attendees

More than 200 parishioners and guests gathered at St Marys auditorium for the May breakfast served by women parishioners. The event featured blue myrtle and hyacinths on the head table, daffodils for smaller tables, with Mrs Margaret Morris leading arrangements and a long list of volunteers assisting in decor and serving.

Bristol Turkey Thieves Sentenced in Superior Court

Bristol residents Frank Andrade and Peter Maturi, both 22, were jailed by Judge Philip Croslin in Superior Court Providence County for stealing nine prize turkeys. Andrade faces eight months in the State Reformatory. Maturi receives a concurrent term. Police traced the theft to Andrade’s De Wolf avenue home. seven birds sold for $18 with two given away. Turkeys valued at $521.

Fourth of July Fund Seeks Public Support in Bristol

The Bristol Phoenix hosts a fund drive total of 120 dollars to date with contributions from Dreadnaught Hook & Ladder Co, F Harvey Straight Commissioner, Isaac H Gorham and others. Police Chief Resumes All Night Parking Ban

Police chief Anthony J. Ferrara announced a reinstatement of the all night parking ban to combat tire and rim thefts. From 1 AM to 6 AM no vehicle may stay more than three hours in one spot, with exemptions for doctors nurses and first responders.
