Belshazzar to Be Staged in Community Cantata Night
Bristol Rotary Club presents the Belshazzar cantata in concert form at Guiteras Memorial Junior High auditorium on Monday and Tuesday to benefit a food station for undernourished school children. Rev A R Parshley directs with 31 singers from local church choirs and a large cast of soloists led by Chester Burgess and Elton MacDonald. DesLauriers Appointed Public Aid Director in Town
In a special session the Town Council unanimously elected John G. DesLauriers to fill the vacant public aid director post after Samuel J. Connery declined the appointment. DesLauriers won four votes with Philip Sansone getting one. the choice was made unanimous on councilman John Romano's suggestion. The salary is 25 dollars weekly.
