Fifth District Court Hears Local Guilty Pleas and Sentencing
In the Fifth District Court Judge Frank Hammill presided yesterday morning. Frank Brown of IL Second Street pleaded guilty to tapping a gas meter of Bristol County Gas and Electric Co on Feb 16 and was fined 25 dollars plus costs. Millam F Dorses for the gas company said the theft was evident as the pipe was tapped between the meter and the street. The judge warned a jail term would follow if such an offense recurred. Almedox Pthrt of State Street pleaded guilty to assault by his wife. Judge Hammill considered a jail term but deferred sentence for three months upon Chief Richard Kavanaugh’s recommendation, noting Ethier’s steady work and lack of trouble at home until late in the week. The civil case Manuel Farias v Miarrano Medeiros, a book account, was continued one week.
