Sixth Annual Ball Held by Bristol Knights of Columbus

The sixth annual ball under Bristol Council No.79 Knights of Columbus was held at Grand Army Hall with a large attendance from Providence Riverside Barrington Warren and nearby areas. Christie’s orchestra provided music and a concert from 8 to 9 o'clock accompanied the event. The grand march featured Grand Knight Augustus W. Connery and Miss Kelley of Providence. 80 couples danced until 2 a.m. John T. Doyle led the floor with Dennis B. Sullivan as assistant and aides. A full committee handled arrangements refreshments and reception with named organizers and sponsors.

Taxpayer Letter on town taxes and factory impact

W. W. Bristol writes to the Phoenix about tax policy compares town and corporate burdens. He argues a half million extra tax on the corporation raises about six thousand dollars monthly, risking jobs and town finances if a plant closes. Trinity Parish Elects Church Officers at Annual Meeting

At last evening's Trinity parish annual meeting Rev. W. R. Trotter chaired as officers and delegates were elected including Senior Warden J. P. Reynolds Junior Warden O. W. Easter Day Observed With Services and Choirs

Easter across the city saw large congregations and balmy weather. Baptist and St Michael churches held full services with varied programs including choirs recitations and hymns. At St Michael the offertory raised 161 for organ debt reduction and six children were baptized at the master Evening service.
