Mock Initiation Delights Knights of Pythias gathers in Grand Army Hall
Burnside Lodge No 34 Knights of Pythias held its weekly meeting in Grand Army Hall with a business session at 730 PM and an open gathering. Guests included FEdge hill Temple No 3 Pythian Sisters. The program featured a mock initiation with the Pythian goat, followed by refreshments and dancing. Committee members OC Marshall Paul A Herzig and Samuel Molask chaired the event.

Lenten Services Held Across Four Churches
Lenten services were conducted in four local churches Wednesday evening. At St Michael's Church Rev Roy M Magoun of the Seaman's Church Institute Newport preached, Rev Fr Dorkins of Providence College delivered the sermon in St Mary's Church, and Rev Henry M. Saville, rector of St Mary's East Providence, preached at the mission service in Trinity Church.

Eleven Bristol scouts attended the combined Courts of Honor at Bridghard School Providence. Awards went to Edward Blackman Oscar Herzig Leonardana Studying Nicholas Ruggiero Sterling Crowley Carl Velleca Frank Perry Joseph Riccio Natala Biancuzzi Fred Brownell Charles Newman for architecture life saving painting seamanship automobiling and other skills. The event included showing footage of the International Jamboree in Denmark and previews of upcoming Scout courses and a Troop volleyball match set for Saturday.
