State Conference of the D A R Next Thursday in Providence

The Rhode Island Daughters of the American Revolution will hold its State Conference next Thursday March 28 in the Biltmore Hotel Providence. Morning and afternoon sessions cover business with an evening reception and banquet hosted by Governor Norman S Case and guest officers.

Bristol Train of Artillery Rifle Club Meeting Notice

Members of the Bristol Train at Xr tilers Rifle Club are urged to attend a meeting at the Boot farmersy State street tomorrow evening to discuss organization, charter details with the National Rifle Association, War Department status, and plans for indoor outdoor matches with ALB and BOTA members invited. Capt Hen Dubotme and State NRA Secretary likely to speak.

Bristol Boxers Reach Final In State Amateur Tourney

Several Bristol boxers competed in the State amateur tourney at the Arcadia on Providence Street Friday evening. Manuel Santos fought in the 112 pound class Tan Cardoza appeared in the 126 pound class and Frank Malafronte in the 135 pound class. Malafronte won his trial bout over William Lynch and beat William Massey of Fall River in the semifinal before losing in the final to Al Koziol of Providence in a technical knockout. Friends of the boxers watched from the stands.

Mount Hope Bridge Cables to Be Replaced at Half Million Cost

The Mt Hope bridge cables are being dismantled and replaced with new ones after defects were found. The replacement work estimated at 500000 dollars will push opening to about November 15 1929 from May 15 1929, with completion anticipated by 1931 under state charter terms.

Hope Circle D of I Plans Banquet at Hotel Belvedere

Hope Circle No 70 Daughters of Isabella will hold its annual banquet at the Hotel Belvedere on Thursday evening April 4. At a recent K of C Home meeting, committee chair Mrs Margaret J Morris reported arrangements for the event are progressing.
