State Street M E Church Holds Quarterly Conference
The State Street Methodist Episcopal Church held its fourth quarterly conference Friday in the vestry. Rev William C Darby was unanimously invited to remain as pastor after two years at Bristol parish. District Superintendent Rev FE Wells presided in his last visit. Officers for the coming year were elected including Trustees Clinton T Sherman, Fred G Blaisdell, Ezra Dixon, and others, with Stewards and various named members appointed to positions.

Col Collins Inspects Battery C and Plans Banquet
Col John J Collins commander of the 243rd CA (H. D) with his staff toured Battery C at the armory on Church street. He praised nearly full attendance during drills and urged a hundred percent for the upcoming Federal inspection. Major A E Rowland noted Battery C as one of the regiment’s best drilled units. A banquet for retiring commander Cynl L D Wells will follow the drill with many military and civic guests expected.

Milk drive fed city children through Lions Penny Club

Rotary Frolic to Boost Bristol Scholarship Fund

The third annual Frolic features show acts, adagio dancing, radio sisters, a Vanities performer, full course menu with extras, lights, booths, and live music by the Bonnet Shores Club Orchestra. The event aims to attract large crowds with a program supervised by C C Getchell and committee members. The fund will loan to worthy students based on scholarship merit, leadership, character, and financial need, with recipients chosen by a board of trustees and allowed field of study choices.

William L Ashton 55 a chauffeur died of natural causes Sunday while seated in his car at 733 Hopestre road gas station. Dr A T Angelo and Dr John R Bernard o pronounced death. He is survived by wife Grace and four children. Funeral Wednesday at 2 from De Wolf Memorial Chapel with burial at Juniper Hill Cemetery.

Munroe Critiques State Liquor Policy At Lions Club
Clifton I. Munroe counsel for the Providence Safety Board spoke to the Bristol Lions Club at the Hotel Belvedere on the liquor situation.
