Brown Missing Scout Official Suffered Amnesia Search Continues
Police search for James P. Brown 59 of Providence continues after his car was found on Church Street near the harbor. Scouting leaders and 30 Boy Scouts scoured the waterfront with Mount Hope as a possible area due to Brown’s past involvement in that region. Brown, a Silver Beaver recipient and Narragansett Council board member, had been missing since the Thursday before the discovery.

Police report three separate weekend accidents in town with minor injuries. Vincent O Lanoue, 1927 Avenue A Warren, may have a broken upper jaw and injuries to a hip chin and left knee after crashing into a parked car on Hope Street. Harold Hirsch, 115 5th Street Providence, wrecked a Silver Top Cab on Metacom Avenue. he was treated for a laceration. Joseph Zoglio, 44 30 Lowell Avenue Providence, lost control on Metacom Avenue and collided with John Mattos. Mattos and his wife were shaken but unharmed.
