Portraits of High School Principals Sought for Colt Memorial
Reynolds reported success in obtaining portraits of principals dating from 1849. A vote authorized the Superintendent to procure copies to place in Colt Memorial High School. Accounts committee bills totaled 1802.23 and were ordered paid.

Veteran Nearly Asphyxiated in Providence Gas Incident
William A Nye, recently discharged from the Soldiers' Home, was found unconscious at the New York Hotel on Pine Street with gas pouring from a half open burner. He was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital in critical condition where doctors feared he would die. The cause remains unclear though low gas pressure or a mislighting is suspected.
