The narrator recalls a disrupted journey from Greensboro North Carolina to Hillsgrove describing a plan to fly through Washington with a 2 26 p m departure and 6 27 p m arrival after a six hour outbound leg with multiple stops. The misfire forced a change in the day trip.
The narrator recalls a chaotic travel day fog and fog delays on the eastern seaboard. After a late departure from an airport and missed connections in Washington and New York he finally reaches La Guardia. A 30 to 45 minute landing delay caused him to miss a Providence flight and incur extra costs at the American Airlines desk.
The narrator arrived home at 11 15 pm instead of 7 15 pm and reflects on a trip to Greensboro and a weekend in Charleston filled with pleasant memories, especially a visit to Middleton Gardens, suggesting a future discussion.
The Bristol observance begins Sunday at United Brothers Synagogue with Judge Mortimer A Sullivan addressing over 200 attendees. Bristol Rhode Island town council proclaims March 20 to March 27 1955 as American Jewish Tercentenary Week. Proclamation by Council President Joseph F Bruno honors Jewish settlement 300 years in the United States and calls all citizens to observe the observance with the theme Man's Opportunities and Responsibilities Under Freedom.
Harbor Development Commission to invite bids March 25 for a $20,000 loan funded harbor complex at Rockwell Park. Plans include a 200 foot pier, a 53 foot launching ramp, novelty catwalks, widened sidewalks, and parking. Final specs by March 25, with bidding contingent on General Assembly approval.
In a letter from Col. Eric P Ramee of the Inspector General's Dept First Army Headquarters New York Battery C is rated excellent after an earlier year inspection. The report commends full strength a waiting list high morale superior appearance and responses while noting strong drill attendance school experience training administration and supply. The unit also earned the Eisenhower Award in the prior year.
A Bristol Rotary Club meeting discussed a $1310 drive to buy equipment for the Rockwell School playground on Hope Street. The project, approved by the chub board of directors, will be run in cooperation with the Bristol recreation board Beach Terrace Improvement Association and a Bristol Highlands group.
Town councils from Bristol County unite to oppose a proposed water rate increase by Bristol County Water Company. They consider hiring experts, seek county hearings in the evenings, and request county funding at the April town meeting if needed. Hearings begin in Providence with discussions on rates service and metering concerns.

Jack Sylvester leads the list with a painting and contracting firm at 33 St Elizabeth Street started January 7. The Hope Diner reopened January 8 under new management. Vincent Martino now runs the weaving room business formerly at Collins and Aikman. Regional Building Co. began February 4 and DeRosa's Market opened February 10 at Mt Hope Avenue and Wood Street, replacing Savi.
A town report details nine new establishments opening or reopening in Bristol including Ano's Market now owned by Salvatore DeRosa and Maisano's Bakery at 469 Wood Street. New services such as Speedy Fluff and Ford Laundry and Town Creamery plan to boost employment and fill local needs as the community edges toward 1955 prosperity.
A committee completed plans to ask er chants and retail owners in Bristol County to close from noon to 3 pm on Good Friday. Volunteers will canvass businesses next week with posters noting the voluntary closure. Last year about 98 percent closed. organizers aim for 100 percent this year.
