Bishop Dallas to Preach at St Michael's Sunday Evening
The fourth in a series of Community Lenten Services will be held at St. Michael's Church on Sunday evening. The preacher is the Rt Rev John Thompson Dallas, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of New Hampshire. Dallas, a Yale and Union Theological Seminary graduate, previously served at St John's Waterbury and Hanover NH, later St Paul's Boston, and has led the New Hampshire diocese with wide acclaim. He has lectured internationally including Japan and holds honorary degrees from Dartmouth Norwich Vermont Berkeley Divinity and UNH. A harpist Miss Murporie Bennett will provide pre service comfort music and offeratory. A fifty-voice choir will lead the singing.

Resolute mast honored as Bristol memorial for Walsh brothers
The 60 foot Resolute racing yacht mast was erected on Providence College campus as a memorial to John and Joseph Walsh two Bristol boys and Providence College students killed in a 1923 auto accident. Rev Dillon blessed the pole with donor R F Haffen Reffer James Walsh and college officials present. The mast, replacing a former wooden pole snapped in September, was shipped from Herreshoff yards and once belonged to the 1914 yacht used to defend the cup in 1920.
