Firemen Respond to Several Small Bristol Fires
Fire crews from four companies fought a grass fire on the Herreshoff Farm at Poppasquash after a passerby’s cigarette. Later, a basement blaze at High and Bradford streets caused smoke in a grocery and shoe store with upstairs living quarters, mitigated by water and steam. A rooftop fire at the Pastime Theatre, sparked by chimney embers, was quickly put out with minor damage.
