Bristol Town Meeting Closes Record Appropriations and Gift
The Bristol annual financial town meeting ran 2 hours 45 minutes with large attendance. Col. S. P. Colt’s bequest of a school house and land was accepted by unanimous vote. Council recommendations largely stood, except cuts for the Town Asylum and an increased public school allocation to 20,500 for Colt High School. The session approved 87,800 total for 1909, about 3,150 less than last year, and set up committees to inspect departments and sewers pending further action.
