ALA findings show average car costs per mile fell over two years across categories from fixed charges to operating expenses. A four door, eight cylinder car at 10,000 miles yearly now costs about 14.47 cents per mile versus 15.60 two years earlier, with Boston and New York City among the highest rates.
In Westerly Rhode Island Albany New York Rutland Vermont compact car rates averaged about $450 per mile lower than regular sized cars across the same cities.
The Bristol Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary met at Hydraulion Engine and Hose Co. Officers were nominated after the charter committee report and by-laws with minor changes were approved. A coffee hour followed. The next meeting is April 7 at the Hydraulian station.
