The Budget Committee endorses total appropriations slightly below last year and preserves a reserve fund. Old Bristol Residence Damaged by Fire
A Bristol Colonial home on Pappoosesquaw Road owned by the Samuel P. Colt Estate and occupied by Mr and Mrs W Stanley Barrett was destroyed by a fire discovered about 8:30 PM during an NE snowstorm. Firefighters fought the blaze from five hose lines. a collie died in smoke, a cat was saved. The furnace is blamed. the house with 10 rooms valued at 20000 and Barrett furnishings at 35000 were insured.
