Refugee Problem Could Be Solved In Six Years Says Rotary Speaker

Mrs Archibald Silverman of Providence a Zionist activist told a Rotary Club that Jews aim to take in 100000 refugees annually into Palestine and that the refugee problem could be settled in six years She argued the land was empty before Jewish settlement and that Arabs held it unfairly while praising Jewish achievements in Palestine and defending their rights and promises in the region.

Providence Pastor and Overseas Quartet at Union Lenten Service

The third Community Lenten Service will be at St Michael's Church Sunday night with Rev H Glenn Payne of Pawtuxet Baptist Church delivering the address. The Overseas Quartet of Providence led by Stanley Rogers and Ray Gardiner will perform a fifty-minute concert before the eight o’clock service, featuring Gounet's Unfold ve Portals as offertory and hymns led by a sixty-voice combined choir.

Dimond Handles First Tax Office Assignment at Missionary Supper

Newly elected Tax Assessor Frank M. Dimond led his first assignment last night as head waiter at the Women's Missionary Society turkey supper. The Guneral House on High Street hosted the event with talks on China by Prof and Mrs Guy A Thelin. About 140 suppers were served, with decorative cut flowers and lighting. Mrs. Samuel Steen chaired the arrangements, assisted by several volunteers.

Bristol taxpayers gather Monday at Reynolds School Auditorium for a financial town meeting to review municipal budgets for the coming year.
