Bristol Chapter DAR meets at Regent's home

Bristol Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution will hold its monthly meeting next Monday at 3 o clock in the Regent Mrs Alfred M Merriman s home. Mrs William Watson of Pawtucket will read a paper titled Historical Women of Rhode Island. Hostesses are Mrs Alfred M Merriman Mrs Harriet P Church and Mrs Charles A Johnson.

Fire in K of C Building in Bristol Narrowly Escapes

Fire at the Bristol Knights of Columbus home on State Street caused by an unknown origin in the northwest basement corner just before 5 am. George Munroe spotted the blaze, firefighters used three motorized trucks to control it, evacuating the area and limiting interior damage to smoke and structural areas. Fire crews reported hydrant valve thread variations caused delays and urged standardized markings on hydrants.
