Mrs Vesary Gilroy Doherty of Warren died Saturday at St Josephs Hospital Providence and was buried in St Marys Cemetery Bristol. Mass was at St Marys Church Warren with Rev James A FitzSimon officiating. She leaves husband Edward, two sons Edward and William of Warren a daughter Mrs Evelyn Remeires of Bristol and five brothers Peter Thomas John Charles and William Gilroy of Bristol.

Funeral services were held for Michael James O Connor 74 at St Marys Church Bristol following injuries from a slip on an icy sidewalk on January 5 He died at home 471 Wood Street after treatment at St Josephs Providence He was a Bristol native born December 1 1859 and a charter member of Bristol Council No 379 K of C. He leaves three sisters one brother and many nieces and nephews.

Unclear Uncle Tom prototype Josiah Henson case noted
Rev Josiah Henson is claimed as the Uncle Tom prototype. He died 1883 at age 93 and is buried near Dresden Ontario. Born Fort Tobacco Maryland he escaped slavery in 1828 and helped lead fugitive slaves via the underground railroad. Stowe allegedly used his story in 1850. His influence was acknowledged by Lyman Beecher Stowe in Montreal.

In Bristol on February 16 1934 the guardians of Mary A Malafronte Alda V Malafronte and Evangeline H Malafronte petition to mortgage minors interests in a Wood Street Bristol parcel valued as a three elevenths stake. The property is subject to $1800 and $1000 mortgages and was previously conveyed by quitclaim in 1920. A hearing is set for March 7 1934 with notice to be published weekly for two weeks.
