Early morning fire at the Seth Paull Company coal pocket near the hoisting engine was confined to a coal pocket and extinguished by hand chemicals. Damage described as slight. A new fire auto truck towed the Dreadnaught ladder truck to the station. a prior fire in the same pocket last fall had made significant headway.

Three children have been seen around town asking for food money and clothing with a note claiming the mother says the family is destitute and the father ill. Authorities investigated and found a wage earner present and no medical care needs. they advise the public not to contribute to support this family.
