Councilman Francois de Wolf defended the current Town Council against claims of special privileges. Campaign plans for the town election on March 10 will be discussed at a joint meeting of the Men's and Women's Republican Clubs in the Makowsky building Hope Street. The Bristol GOP has two rallies planned before the election one next Monday at Columbia Hall Wood Street and another on March 9 at Academy Hall. Dr John R Bernardo town committee chairman says candidates and party leaders will speak at the rallies.
Joseph Ventura a 47 year old mason's helper fell from a cross beam while adjusting shafting in the wire finishing department of the Bristol United States Rubber Company plant. He died at the factory hospital of head injuries. Burial in St Mary's cemetery. He is survived by his wife and four children.
Bristol officials bid farewell to the current council at the last regular session before the March 10 town election. Council President Paull lauds colleagues including Francois J. deWolf for honest, nonpartisan service and notes police reform and orderly town operations. deWolf defends his nomination on the Democratic slate and praises the council's handling of charges against former Police Chief Kavanaugh.

Pupils of Guiteras Memorial Junior High presented a two act play Four Innocent Boys this afternoon as part of the weekly entertainment program. Cast included Joseph Russo Herbert Eisenstadt Tony Janario William Rohrman and Natale Candelmo. Produced under Miss Jesse Molasky supervision with stage debut by the Guiteras Hill Bullies instrumental group. Additional piano guitar performances and group readings accompanied by stage managers Mario Digeorgia Tony Cabral and Ralph Morasco.
Several hundred graduates of Colt Memorial High School are expected at the annual St Patrick's dance hosted by the Bristol Colt High Alumni Association on March 12 in the Colt auditorium. Billy Guevremont and his Collegians will provide music for general dancing with favors and novelties as features. Edward E Levy chairs the arrangements committee with members Genevieve Pagnano Laura Balzano Esther Hayes Mary Grimo Ruth Molasky Viola Leclerc and Fred Goff together with George Wilson and Joseph Murgo in ex officio posts.
A motion picture Vita Di Don Bosco will be shown Sunday at 2 p m at the Pastime Theatre to benefit Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church. Admission is nominal. The arrangements committee includes Mrs Emilia Copolino Mrs Felicite Stangelo Mrs Luigi Alfano Mrs Joseph Campanello Mrs Principe Mrs John Carmone Mrs Emilia Langello and Mrs Assunta Marino.

Other state motor vehicle departments will watch this experiment with interest. In addition to the money saving involved, the vexing problem of meeting the numerous demands for special numbers will be solved. This would be enough to recommend it to department heads who find it troublesome to satisfy the demands for special combinations each year.
Commercial vehicles registered in Connecticut will not use the new plates for at least another year. The delay affects business fleets and motor carriers awaiting updated registration markings.
