The Bristol celebration for Independence Day includes naval flyover visitors from US S Wright and escort, concerts July 3, a midnight bonfire, July 4 bells and a grand parade with detailed divisional formations and staff. Battery H will fire a noon salute to the Union.
Ralph Church leads the De Molay Band and Patrol with Celestina Tuplin commanding. Providence chapter Rainbow Girls and Bristol Girl Scouts are noted among the fifth division units.

A Rhode Island parade lists divisions led by Col Merton A Cheesman General L H Callan and Lieut Bertram W Wall. Units assemble along State street with a front near the State Street M E Church and line up toward Wood street as officials and regents from G A R and D A R, local town leaders and staff officers participate.
The march proceeds from State to Hope to Church and High streets, then along High to Union Hope Franklin and to the corner of State and High for a reviewing stand. Governor Norman S Case and staff will review the parade with the Chief Marshal and the 4th of July Committee on the west side of High street. Afterward sailors from the Naval Training Station Newport RI will perform calisthenics and marching drills.
At 2 p m the Twilight League elimination winners meet in the final game. A 243rd Coast Artillery band concert follows at 2 p m, with a 4 p m trades procession from High street between State and Church to the Court House area. A 4:30 p m National Guard battalion drill. 5 p m exercises from the Hotel Belvedere balcony with Chief Marshal Edward J Leahy presiding. Water battle to end the day on High street.
At 815 p m a concert on the common by the 243rd Coast Artillery Band will entertain residents. At 1015 p m a grand display of fireworks on the common closes the evening.
Everett LeB Church chairs the committee with Robert H. Anderson as vice chair and John G. Stewart as secretary. Daniel E Dwyer serves as financial secretary James F Meiggs is treasurer and Anthony Bruno is listed among members along with Harry Bullock Matthew J Cahoon and George Dion.

Bristol plans a water battle after Fourth of July exercises in front of the Court House. Four 5 man teams from Defiance Hose, Hydraulion Hose, Fire Engine, and NIR Company compete under strict rules with 60 psi starting pressure, 50 foot distance, 15 minute rounds, and judges monitoring water lines and timing.
Residents and guests will witness large scale motorboat races on the Fourth of July sponsored by the RI Outboard Motorboat Association under the Bristol Yacht Club regatta committee. At least 40 boats compete in classes B and C and sea sleds with first and second prizes donated by the Celebration Committee. The Oriana owned by Edward D Kunz of this town won first place in Class C in Wednesday’s New York Yacht Club Narragansett Bay event.
Battery C 243rd CA held a Tuesday evening drill and voted to support the baseball team as a unit. Members planned Fourth of July parade dress uniforms and will showcase newly nickel plated bayonets and scabbards. Rifle practice continues Thursdays at Bristol Train of Artillery armory under Lieut Moren for Regimental Field Day at Rumford range.
The U S S Wright's crew offers to set off fireworks the night before the Fourth while the carrier is anchored in the harbor to contribute to local celebrations. The committee has word of a substantial supply of fireworks aboard the ship and welcomes the display.
Town Clerk reports 1022 men and 875 women qualified, with 309 names still needed to top the 1924 registry total of 2205. Office hours tomorrow run 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., continuous.
Rhode Island Motorboat Association to sponsor a Sunday race at 1 pm for small craft with outboard motors. Expect 30 to 50 entrants starting off Camp Slockum on Kirkemuit River shore. Large crowd of yachting enthusiasts anticipated if weather permits.
Commander Allcord of the Aero Squadron toured Bristol to meet with Celebration Committee chairman Everett L B Church and Town Council President General L H Callan. He pledged full cooperation to carry out the town's Fourth of July program.
An 11 year old boy Michael Turillo fired an air rifle at Joseph Pimental injuring his left eye. Turillo initially denied knowledge but later admitted he fired to scare after Pimental allegedly threw a stone. Police investigated the Bradford Street incident and the Turillo family is involved.
