Two Classes of Relief Cases in State Aid Law
The aged sick and disabled cannot be helped by State Emergency Relief funds. Town dependents must be supported with local funds, while those able to work are covered by the State program. About 35 town dependents rely on local funds. the Colt, Wilson and Poor Fund accounts total about 2900 dollars. The Assistant State Attorney General warns against diverting State funds for nonwork needs, prompting consideration of using the Poor Farm for town dependents and urging thorough study.
