Brown University awarded 250 degrees at the 148th Commencement Exercises on a Wednesday. 109 men and 49 Women's College students received liberal arts A B and Ph B degrees, 210 men earned Sc B, 53 received A M and Sc M and 6 Ph degrees. Cutting Affray On Bradford Street Leaves Man Slashed
Manuel Phillipe a Portuguese resident of Gooding Park was slashed in four or five facial and neck wounds near Brad ford street and Bourn avenue on Tuesday night about 11. Dr O R Siegel treated the injuries with stitches. The assailant named Sam an Italian from Bradford street fled after the attack chased to Wood street and Constitution street by Phillipe’s friends.

Four year old Jack Cheshire drowns in Bristol harbor
The four year old son of Mr and Mrs William Cheshire drowned yesterday noon near the Brownell boat yards at the foot of High Street. His body was found about 1 pm after a search by his father, a wool sorter at Cranston Worsted Mills. Death due to drowning was certified by Medical Examiner Dr O R Siegel. Born in England, he had lived in Bristol since February. He leaves two sisters. The funeral is set for tomorrow at 1 30 pm from the parental home with interment in North Cemetery.

Last-Minute Registration Urged Ahead of June 30 Deadline
Voters who have not registered have six days left as registration closes one week from today June 30. Town Clerk John M. Coggeshall will accept registrations from 9 am to 9 pm except Sundays. Those voting for president in November should register now. Total registered last night was 421 compared with 206 at the same time last year and 427 four years ago.
