Ninety-one graduates of Bristol Senior High School received diplomas from Edward J. Fitzgerald as the Andrews Gym filled with relatives. The event featured the Bristol High School Band, a Hallelujah Chorus performance, and addresses by Hon. Mortimer Sullivan on education, faith, and peaceful leadership.

Trio Fined For Breaking Window At Duffy Confectionary

At a Fifth District Court special session presided by Emilio Iannuccillo clerk, Walter A Halcombe 22 Eric S Broadwell 22 and G M Ward 24 were fined $10 and costs for breaking the plate glass window of James F. Duffy's Confectionary Store. The 1110 unit was apprehended at 2 am for the act measuring 84 by 120 inches.

Minturn Farm Chosen as Incinerator Site by Town Council

Town Council selected Minturn Farm as the incinerator site amid concerns over funding and cost. A contour sketch and cost estimates will be prepared by an engineer, with possible additional funds sought beyond the initial 70 000 appropriation. A separate beverage license petition for the White Rail Riding Club was set for hearing.

Date Changed For Sports Night At Bristol YMCA

The first annual Sports Award Night at the Bristol YMCA moved to Wednesday June 26. Anthony E. Agatiello, Athletic Director and event chairman, announced the change. Carlo Carulli prepares dinner served in Rockwell Hall at 5 45 p.m. About seventy five boys will receive awards for YMCA sports achievements from the past year. Baseball films including 1945 World Series will be shown afterward.

Salvage Committee distributes funds to local groups in Bristol

The Bristol Salvage Committee approved a total gift of 1285.65 dollars to five Boy Scout troops, the Girl Scouts for an outdoor fireplace project, and the Bristol Common for flagpole beautification. A 500 dollar gift aided the Fourth of July Committee in honor of World War Two veterans return, with committee members named and a record of activities to be published. Delegates Named To State Encampment Of VFW

The Anthony C. Almeida Post No 237 VFW names delegates and alternates to the State Encampment in Providence starting June 28. Senior Vice-Commander Arthur J. Belmore named committee chair to oversee regulations for returning war dead from overseas. The post also approved a $10 celebration fund gift and marching in the Fourth of July parade.

YMCA form softball league as group meets Wednesday

A Bristol group gathered at the YMCA to organize a softball league led by Vincent Santo with participants Howard Knox Ralph Bernardo and Frank Puniello. The next meeting is set for 8 p.m. Monday at the YMCA to draft league rules and confirm entrants.
