Bristol Youth Held For Grand Jury

A 19 year old, Wilfred Guevremont, known as Bucky, was bound over to the Grand Jury by Clerk Henry Fowler after waiving examination on charges of operating an automobile without the owner’s consent. Bail set at 2000 dollars, case continued for a trial next week. Other defendants faced fines and continuances for traffic and parking violations.

Former Bristol Girl Now a New York Commercial Artist

Mir and Mrs S Leslie Gill of New York sail today for a three month visit to Trance and Germany. Mrs Gill, formerly Dilys Wallon from this town, has built a notable career in New York City as a commercial artist. Her maiden-name signatures have appeared in The New Yorker Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. Her Harpers Bazaar and The New Yorker work includes color pieces and a back cover for an ocean liner advertisement. A subsequent Harper's Bazaar double page spread is anticipated in August.

New Commissary Opens Tomorrow With Full Line

Bristol opens a new commissary at 8 am with meats and groceries, serving daily from 8 to 12 and 1 to 4. Capt Frank L. Pinney of the Naval War College spoke at the Bristol Lions Club about the 1924 Around the World air flight. He recounted supplying Greenland bases, night travel with searchlights, and anchoring buoys for fliers. He also described a Danish Greenland port visit and criolite mining.

Rhode Island Yacht Club Fleet to anchor in Bristol July 3 and 4

About 35 boats from the Rhode Island Yacht Club will anchor at Bristol Yacht Club July 3 and 4 after a bay cruise on Saturday. Commodore W H Potter confirms plans in a letter to Francois L. deWolf. Visitors will attend the Bristol Breakfast Dance sponsored by the Fycelsior Tennis Club early Fourth.

Bache Private School Holds Closing Exercises

Closing exercises at Bache Private School were held yesterday at 3 PM. The program featured a Mother Goose Dialogue with all children participating, a school song, and a dialogue titled A New Way of Spending the Fourth with roles by James Perrys, Charles Sherman Jr, Oswald Thomas, and Louis Cristi.
