Bristol Signs Sketch a Picture of a Busy Town
A nostalgic tour of Bristol signs along Thames Street and State Street recalls the bustling trades of Elisha Wardwell and others. It notes weather forecasts on signs, Millerites predicting the Millennium, a Mount Hope range of lodges, and a Balm of Gilead seller with a shy Victorian manner, all preserving a vivid urban character.
