Improvements at Linden Place Portend a Brighter Bristol View
Noteworthy improvements will modernize Linden Place Col S P Colt’s residence on Hope street. A new brick wall with brown stone posts replaces the old stone border, a nearer driveway entrance, extended iron fence to Wardwell street, and a grand granolithic walk. New brown stone steps and graded embankment will enhance the grounds, making Linden Place a more proud town landmark.

Namquit Mill to Close This Week Over Cotton Prices
Superintendent Hill told about 150 employees that the Namquit cotton mill would shut down this week likely Thursday due to high raw cotton costs. Production will wind down by using current stock with possible short or long closure depending on cotton prices, as other mills nationwide also face cuts. The shutdown risks job ease for workers seeking other mills, which may also be reducing operations.
