Committee to Present Name for New Pastor
The First Congregational Church will vote on June 19 to accept the pastoral succession committee’s unanimous recommendation of Rev Albert Edward Hutchison as pastor to succeed Rev Frederick F Driftmier who resigned to join Old South Church in Springfield Massachusetts Hutchison currently pastors Union Church of Hopedale Massachusetts since 1949 He was born in 1907 in Port Wales and was ordained in 1929 He earned degrees from Christian Volunteer Force Theological College Glasgow Webster University Atlanta Georgia and holds MA and BD degrees from Webster University He is married with a daughter in high school Members of the pastoral succession committee are listed with Raymond J Gruenwald as chairman.

At a Bristol County Dental Society dinner in Midway Steak and Lobster House Dr Arthur J Johnston of Warren was guest of honor before about to join the US Air Force. Bristol Yacht Club Announces Social Season Schedule
The Bristol Yacht Club through its social committee led by Mr and Mrs Russell W Southwick outlines a three month season starting with a June 26 flag raising at the new Pappasquash Point clubhouse. Ten events include a July 2 dance a July 14 lunch and auction and a July 24 buffet supper plus a three day Narragansett Bay Yachting Association regatta August 5 to 7 hosted by the club which will operate a launch dock and beach daily.
