Bristol lists 90 X card holders in latest rationing update
Bristol War Rationing Board released a corrected list showing 90 persons and industries holding unlimited gasoline X-cards. Capt Paul A. Herzig said 32 X cards have been turned in since issue and four holders yet to appear for checkups.

St Marys Pupils Lead In Salvage Contest
St Marys Parochial School leads with 1577 pounds of scrap rubber toward a five dollar prize in the Salvage For Victory drive. Reynolds and Guiteras schools follow, with 916 and 703 pounds respectively, as the townwide effort totals 4244 pounds. Statewide blackout planned next week across June period
The State Council of Defense will conduct a state wide blackout from June 9 to 12 between sunset and sunrise. A general mobilization of all workers will occur at blackout time with factory whistle signals. Air raid sirens may be used and local war production sites are urged to minimize light. Signals Green 1 to Green 4 will guide timing.

War Correspondent recounts perilous desert flight and rescue
