Electric lights to replace gas in Cincinnati plan

A plan presented by the Electric Light Co. would raise 200 ft towers with lamps of 16 000 18 000 candle power and 75 ft posts with 2 000 4 000 candle power to illuminate Cincinnati. A central station with five machines and 208 000 candle power capacity will operate at 25 percent under gas costs, signaling a shift from coal gas. Memorial services were held at State Street M E Church for war veterans, with Rev. E F Jones delivering a fitting tribute. Transactions show May deeds and town council actions including billiard license, property inventory, and school land disposal in 1877.

A separate note mentions sawdust increasingly used in car wheel and building products. A U S revenue steamer Corwin sails May 4 from San Francisco for Alaska, with a goal to search for the Jeannette and possibly winter in Arctic seas. Untitled fragment on a Russian prince and fortunes

Fragmentary OCR notes describe a Russian prince with vast sums but little concern yet to spend. The speaker foresees him spending lavishly for years and warns that the wheel may turn, leading to loss of every dollar and a fade from sight like prior figures on Wall Street.
