Bristol Wins 10 Inning Baseball Thriller On Memorial Day
Bristols defeat Hebronville 10 to 9 in 10 innings after a high scoring, error plagued game. Harrington struck out 12 but faltered in key seventh and eighth frames before Bristol rally with four runs in the eighth to tie and Van Almkerk, Demara and Tucker drive late runs. Tucker, Van Almkerk, Guinan and Harrington led with three hits each as Demara and Ahearn added two. The game features a Cape Cod style comeback and notes the opposing pitcher Burns, son of former Bristol catcher Andy Burns. On the same day the Bristols lost to Crescenta 18 to 14 in Providence after trailing late, with Welsh muffing a crucial third strike to allow the winning run.
