Prudence Island ferry trip canceled by heavy fog
Capt Manny Sousa of the Prudence Island ferry Prudence canceled Wednesday morning sailing due to dense fog. Visibil ity near Church Street dock was zero for the return leg. radar limits were cited as a factor. Passengers were taken on at Homestead dock. the fog remained so thick at 8 o clock that cancellation was deemed safest.

Prudence Boat Suffers Serious Engine Trouble

The 15th annual Pet Show, sponsored by the Board of Recreation, will be held on the Town Common at 2 pm Wednesday August 2. Anthony Agatiello says playgrounds will close during the event. Prizes will honor most unusual, most humorous cat dog and bird entries, largest and smallest pet, best all around pet, and best performance with appearance. All entrants receive refreshments. Playgrounds to Make Prudence Sail Tuesday
Children from Bristol round areas head for Bravence Island on Tuesday departing at 8:00 am and must register by 4:30 pm for the annual day. Lifeguard Receit DeCosta accompanies the boat trip.
