Town officials plan free Bristol summer band concerts
Town Council President J. Floyd Huestis and Councilman James J. Velleca formed a general arrangements committee of Bristol women to raise funds for a series of five free concerts. Plans call for a different band at each event, possibly including out of town groups and the 243rd Coast Artillery. Bristol Train of Artillery and Portuguese American Independent Band would also perform. Estimated cost is nearly $500, with Prescott B. Paull leading fundraising efforts and pledging support.

Freight service work begins on Bristol line restoration
Work resumed on the Providence Bristol line with crews resetting twisted tracks and rebuilding the railroad bed damaged by last September’s hurricane.
