Quiet at National as Mill Reopens in August
Following a recent strike at National India Rubber Company the Employment Bureau at Millville is rehiring workers for the August 1 restart. Hundreds lined up as the company plans a tagging system to track each employee while the Wire Division and Machinists and Carpenters work resume. Strikes have drawn government arbitration requests, though Millville and Woonsocket mills call demands excessive and War Department investigators study the causes.
