The Company He Keeps in Washington Controversy
A Kentucky congressman Andrew J May faces a Washington scandal linking him to Dr. Henry Garrson and Ben Fields. Garrson built a paper empire, profited via war contracts, and entangled 16 firms while facing past bribery accusations. Fields seeks publicity, while May’s ties to Garrson raise questions about possible profits from lumber land and calls for scrutiny by the Mead Committee.
