Bristol Fourth of July Parade Captures Citywide Pride
The Bristol Fourth of July parade drew about 85,000 spectators along a two mile route. Governor Licht and Navy secretary John H. Chafee led color guards as families wore patriotic outfits and vendors filled the early crowds. Parade chair James J. Velleca Jr called it the biggest ever and police praised the event as among the best.
